DIY Facial Scrub


Today in this article I will show you three facial scrubs which you can make at home. I believe that making the scrubs at home help you to customize them according to your skin types and needs. Also, they are chemical free which makes them even more desirable.

So lets quickly get on to the scrub type one


Gram Flour Scrub

Things you will need for one time use:

  1. 1/4 cup Gram flour ( Besan in hindi)
  2. Milk (as required)
  3. Turmeric
  4. Coconut or almond oil (optional)



  1. Take the gram flour in a bowl.
  2. Add milk just enough to make a smooth paste.
  3. Add a pinch of turmeric.
  4. Add half a table spoon of almond or coconut oil( If you have oily skin avoid this step).



Lentil Scrub

Things you will need (for one time use)

  1. 1/4 cup of Pink lentils (Masoor dal in Hindi)
  2. Milk  (as required)
  3. Almonds (or Almond oil) (optional)


  1. Take the Pink lentils and add some water, just enough to submerge them completely.Leave them to soak for about 2 hours ( or until they soften).
  2. Now, drain out the remainder water from the lentils.
  3. Add some milk and a little almond oil or a few almonds and them grind them into a rough paste.( if you have oily skin avoid almonds)
  4. There you go your organic home made chemical free scrub is ready.
  5. This scrub can be made in advance and stored in refrigerator for about a week.


Semolina Scrub ( my favorite)

Things you will need:

  1. Semolina (Sooji in Hindi)
  2. Moisturizer
  3. Cleansing Milk.



  1. Take Semolina in a cup.
  2. Add Moisturizer and cleansing milk just enough to make a smooth paste.
  3. Best part about this scrub is that you can make in advanced and keep.
